Literacy Can Change The World!

My mission is to ensure literacy success for every child! Changing the world through education is part of my business model. Each for profit training program will be tied to a non-profit partner who supports literacy instruction to families in need, locally and globally. This means when you invest in your own child through my training programs, you’re also investing in children and families around the world; you are helping make the world a better place.

The Malala Fund

The organization we’re currently donating to is The Malala Fund:

“The Malala fund empowers girls through quality education to achieve their potential and inspire positive change in their communities. The Malala Fund advocates at the international, national, and local level for policy and system changes that give girls access to a high quality education at a community level. They invest in local and national non-profit organizations delivering quality secondary education for girls in the most vulnerable communities. The Malala Fund amplifies the work of Malala by championing the voices of other girls, highlighting what works in girls’ education and calling on leaders to do more.” ~text from
We, at Bonnie Lee Nicholls Literacy Consulting, are very proud to be supporting such an exceptional young lady in her important work of inspiring young girls to use their gifts to change the world, actively incorporate high quality literacy education in vulnerable communities, and compelling current and future world leaders to ensure high quality education for all children locally and globally.

Malala’s Personal Story:

Great Organizations I've Worked With In the Past

I've been incredibly fortunate in my life with the people that I've worked with; generous and inspiring individuals of all ages. My students (children, parents, & teachers) have shown me what a true capacity for giving, loving, and sharing our gifts to make this world a better place truly is.

Free The Children

In my first year of teaching, my grade two students were true philanthropists! They spent their entire school year putting their ideas of how to help other children into action. They worked closely with Free The Children. They had airlines fighting over who would fly school supplies for them, they were interviewed by radio programs, the held a gala for their community to raise awareness about global education issues, and they even wrote a book! My 7 year old students truly believed that they could change the world. And they did.

Volunteer Society Nepal

I spent 6 months in Nepal in 2006 & 2007 working with the local organization, Volunteer Society Nepal. I developed workshops for teachers based on the requests of the school districts, administrators, and teachers. I worked with many public & private school districts during my time in Nepal. Additionally, I assisted Volunteer Society Nepal in setting up their private school, a model that would provide excellent education to high paying families which would fund & enable the community of local orphans to attend. This model has inspired my own business model of high end programs with proceeds that support incredible education based organizations assisting families and children in need.

Compassionate Resource Warehouse

My grade 6 class collected used children's books, and raised awareness of global education issues within their community, during a social studies class project. Compassionate Resource Warehouse shipped the books to an orphanage in the Philippines.
